About us

Tena "T" Dunn of Studio Home Framing

The Framer :
Tena “T” Dunn

As a master bricklayer of 35 years, T knows a thing or two about attention to detail. After training with a local framer, running Studio Home Framing as a part-time venture and a marriage to an art and design obsessive, picture framing has been a natural, enjoyable sideways step.

Converting his crumbling old backyard shed into a light bright studio space allows him to keep costs low and continue perfecting his new craft.

T is a long-term Christchurch resident, a majorly good crayfish diver and excitable new face on the ski slopes!

Julia Atkinson-Dunn of Studio Home Framing

The sidekick:
Julia Atkinson-Dunn

Julia may have had ulterior motives in her encouragement of the launch of this new business… like everyone else she hoarded rolls of unframed art under the bed and was in desperate need of nice, personalised framing solutions!

With a background in interior design, she’s a design and garden writer by trade, an artist and passionate supporter of New Zealand artists; all gathered under the banner of Studio Home.

Julia steps in to help T with client consultations when needed, offering ideas on framing and colour choices to work best with your artwork and then your aesthetic.

Testimonials

Making the decision to frame my large scale work-on-canvas by Harriet Millar was a scary one! It already looked perfect to me, bu T and Ju talked me through my options and have transformed it into something truely spectacular. I can’t thank them enough for their advice, eye for detail and picture perfect finished result!
Highly recommend.

Thank you Ju and T!

When I brought my artworks to you for framing, I knew that they would be cared for, meticulously framed and enhanced for life beyond my studio...and I am never wrong.
Legends! Thank you T for your hard work and attention to detail and to Ju for making the whole exchange so easy.
Just like Arnie, I’ll be back.
